Well, it's been a while since my last post. About 5 months back my computer crashed and it wasn't until this month that I was able to buy another one and get back on line. It's clear how much of a difference being on line makes for my Sawmill Business. After a month I'm still trying to catch up with emails and correspondence. My website had a lot of visitors who sent emails from the contact form and I did have a regular flow of phone calls from customers who like talking to someone better than the email. Even when I wasn't running adds like normal plenty of traffic was generated from having a good search ranking.

Over the summer my largest milling project was 28,000 bdft of Sugar Pine and Cedar. I spent every Saturday showing my woodwork at the local farmers market. I don't make a huge amount of income from this but it gets my name out to potential sawmill clients. It is well worth it in the long run and now it has become a social event and a lot of people look for me each week. The Farmers Market runs from May through October. I only do two other Craft Shows during the year , one is a two day 1850 theam at the Columbia State Historic Park and I give demonstrations with my Shaving Horse. The other is a three day Christmas show. I set up one of my yurt's for each and that draws a good crowd by itself.
