:D Another odd job for the mill. This method of sawing is great for coffee tables, but it is rather hard on the clutch sawing diagonal to the grain of the log. 8)

How bad will it split? Since you are cutting through the center...
Is it the same, as if you do a horizontal cut?

:D Hey Harry, they are different. It seemed harder to saw this way. This is more of an experiement than anything, I gotta feeling how there gonna go, but I'll take pix from time to time.

:D Yes I must say, when the women see them, they start brainstorming. :lol: Unless you stand the log up straighter than I did you will only get one or two out of a short log. But a short log won't make them long enough for a coffee table. Unless you lay it down further ( thus giving you only 1 or 2). The'll be more for end tables. 8)
