Finally got a day off. Funny thing is I got laid off 2 weeks ago, and i've been running my legs off doing things that i had promised for other people, and got involved in a friend of mines mothers expensive remodel. I alread had 34 x 50 under roof, and the new addition to the north side added 15x 40. This is hopefully gonna be used for lumber storage. This brings me to a grand total of 2300 sq. ft in the dry. Due to my scrounging, this brought the entire shop up to a grand total of less than $200 out of pocket Being a packrat sometimes has its advantages. Now i gotta get some walls in, finish the floor and get the electric in. Got it all in the barn, just gotta get it installed. Pics to come. Ken

no money involved. I work construction and volunteer to help the general contractor "clean up" as a job nears completion. You wouldn't believe the things they throw away. Once got a whole skid of 1" Marine plywood cuase it had gotten wet, and they couldn't return it. Cheaper to let me do the cleanup and they save on the labor and the dumpster fee. Ken

Don't really know. i am thinking of some smaller racks made from 2" pipe above my normal stuff dead stacked on the floor . These racks will be used for my special stuff, like cedar, black walnut, cherry, pecan, and some heartpine that i am saving until someone wants it worse than i do. If you have any ideas or thoughts, holler now cause as soon as i get the floor leveles up i will build something. Ken

Heres the pics. I finally got them resized. The main building already existed, i just added the lean to on the side. should be able to store a lot of lumber in there. Ken

I scrounged all the pipe from a demo job we did on a school project. The main posts and rafters on the main building are all 6 and 5 inch pipe, schedule 80 , beveled and welded out, probably could pass x-ray. All joints are lateral, full penetration welds. i could probably pull the engine out of a bull dozer on them. The addition is 4 and 3 inch pipe. A tornado might take the roofing but it will have the devil of a time picking up the rest. hehehehe. My dad and I did it all in our spare time, he is retired and i set up a couple of welds and he does them when he gets the chance. Ken
