Friend of mine is a local contractor. He does a lot of commercial work and uses alot of equipment. He recently worked out a really good deal over the internet for a ford f-450 1 1/2 ton. The truck was in L.A. Very nice truck and a very good deal, only problem was he needed to pick it up the next day to get the seller to take it off of ebay. He couldn't go and he couldn't find any one to go. He was telling me his sob story, crying me a river, and I decided to go. Left the fire station at 6:30 am flew out of Columbus, OH at 10:51 to Chicago. Flew out to Denver at 1:00. It snowed 2 feet in Denver the night before, but we had no problems.

Flew out of Denver at 3:30 to L.A. over the rockies. Beautiful, never been over them before.

Flew into L.A. at about 4:45, the San Bernadino Mts are very nice. L.A. is unbelievable, at 20,000 feet all you could see was city, from ocean to mountains as far north and as far south, nothing but city.

It was a driving nightmare though. I left the parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and it took me 3 hours just to get out of the city. 6 lanes of traffic going 9 miles an hour. For a boy from WV it was insane. The traffic would speed up to 55 and then go back to 10. I was using a garmin, thank God, only problem the garmin only calculates the shortest or the quickest route. Not neccessarily the best thing in down town L.A. Took me through some pretty poor neighborhoods. But the Lord saw me through. Drove till 2:30 am made it to Flagstaff AZ. Slept for 4 hours.

As you can see I drove straight east, bummer, for 17 hours to Joplin, Missouri slept 6 hours woke up at 6:00 am and was home by 7:30 pm. Total of 6 hours flying and 37 hours driving. 4,600 miles total. Glad to be home

Averaged 64.8 miles per hour and I was physically by my self, but God is always with me. He kept me awake and safe the whole time.
