You going to have to slab the pine heavy to get the bugs that are in the outer layer. Use a knife and push it in the log and see how far it will go in that will tell you how much good is left.if the pines are up off the ground you might be a little better than if they were on the ground. bugs love p...

Thats neat.
I dont have a scale but this would be very helpful to have in the truck (or van in my case) when buying logs from little places.

Thanks treebucker... i cant add anthing beacuse i dont know much about this kind of roof. The shed isnt going to be very big the logs were not that long only 6' so i am trying to get the best idea to use them. Well i need to get building a small barn. The size is 12'x16'. I want to build the walls and roof in one bent like the timber frames but only 2x4. I want to use the old style garble(sp) roof. I read that some people do both ways. The bigger the size the more $$$$$$$$$$$ What kind of wood do they want?? If it is something that you can get a big box store then you will lose.
